Rebecca,
Basically, I have very little on the Thomas Lawrence family:
Thomas Lawrence, b.@1733,
Richmond County, VA; m.@1754 Lucy
WOMACK, in Virginia; d. @1797,
Wilkes County, NC. His parents were
Tobias PHILLIPS and Margaret LAWRENCE (not married, Margaret was an indentured servant...Tobias had
bought her service after she was shipped to the colonies by a judge in
England).
Lucy
WOMACK, b.1733,
Goochland County, VA, parents were Henry
WOMACK and Martha "Patsy"
PUCKETT (no info on these folks yet).
Children of Thomas and Lucy:
-William, b.@1755, m. Rachel
FULLER 5 May 1785;
-Jesse, b.@1757, m. Sarah
SHELTON 5 May 1785;
-Peter, b.@1759, d. 1863, m. Lucy GOODE;
-John, b. 4 Jan 1760, d. 29 Jan 1841, in Georgia;
-Thomas Jr., b.@1762;
-George, b.@1764, d. 26 Aug 1844 in NC, m. Ann Elizabeth
BAKER @1787;
-James, b.@1766, m. Mary
CATE 5 Jan 1790;
-Mary "
Polly", b.1767, d. 24 May 1851 in MO; m. Thomas LAY 25 Feb 1783;
-Henry, b. 12 Jun 1771, m. 1st
Winnie MANARD 1789, m. 2nd Lany WINSAT 22 Mar 1813;
-Lucy, b.30 Mar 1773, d. 10 Dec 1859, m. Charles
CATE 1797.
As you can see, this is not much. It all came from Isla
Cain who lived in MT (she died a couple of years ago). My attention has been focused on other lines for the past several years and I've only just recently started to work on these lines again. Was Thomas Lawrence a Revolutionary War soldier? One of the notes from Isla said that he was, but
I have not been able to confirm that.
The information I have on the Thomas Lay/Mary Lawrence family includes 6 children (
Jamison, John, Susannah, William, Lewis, and Thomas)...and not a whole lot on those.
Does any of this match what you have? And can you add to these meager facts?
Many thanks!
Liz
