KERNERSVILLE Marion Salmons Crater July 10, 1930 - Jan. 29, 2013 Mrs. Marion Salmons Crater, 82, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Bradford Village East Nursing Home. Marion was born July 10, 1930 in Yadkin County to the late Blume Alexander and Fannie Swaim Salmons. She was a 1950 graduate of West Yadkin High School and was a long time resident of the Sedge Garden community where she attended Sedge Garden Baptist Church. Marion enjoyed her beautician's career for over 50 years and also worked in the public school system in the cafeteria for 10 years. She enjoyed gardening and sharing her harvest with her family, whom she adored. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene Crater; grandchildren, Heather Christina and Christopher Lee Holder; two brothers, Johnnie and Tom Salmons; and two sisters, Mozelle Wagner and Hazel Cook. Surviving are two daughters Theresa Ridings (Ricky) and Sheila Holder (Tommy); a son, Jeffrey Crater; five grandchildren, Brooke Anndell and Courtney Rene Holder, Chelsea Mae, Haley Nichole and Jeffrey Eugene Crater; one great grandchild, Emma Marie Holder, four sisters, Lois Myers, Bertha Johnson, Veatrice Arnold and Annie Mae Meadows; two brothers, Commie and Lonnie Salmons; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Ray Harvey officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Gur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
