CONCORD Miles Gray Gentry July 5, 1926 - Feb. 12, 2013 Mr. Miles Gray Gentry, Sr., 86, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center Northeast in Concord, NC. He lived in Yadkin County for 74 years and in Concord for the past 12 years. He was born July 5, 1926 in Yadkin County to the late William Clark Gentry and Merlie Pendry Gentry. Mr. Gentry was a veteran of the US Army with 11 years of service, and retired from AT&T with 33 years of service. Over the past few years, he had been attending Word of Faith Worship Center in Concord, NC. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Carol Gentry; and three brothers, Sherman Gentry, Jim Gentry, and Allen Gentry. Surviving are his beloved wife of 60 years, Nancy Long Gentry, of the home; his loving children, son, Gray Gentry, and wife, Renaee of Yadkinville; daughter, Lynn Pearson, and husband, Steve of Concord; grandchildren, Miles Gentry III, Rachel Gentry; sister, Fern Johnson, Greensboro. A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Gentry will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Center United Methodist Church, 1349 Center Rd., in Yadkinville, NC 27055, by Rev. David Haltom and Rev. Gary Price. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall of Center United Methodist Church on Sunday.
