I am searching for information about the family of William HIGGINS in North Carolina (County unknown) prior to 1808.
William and his wife Mary (maiden surname unknown) came to Washington Township, Clermont County, Ohio sometime before 1808 with sons Nathaniel, Charles, James D., & Wes(t)ley and a daughter Mary Ann. I do not have birth places or dates for any of the family. William was a property owner on the Clermont County, Ohio Tax List of 1808. James D. moved to Brown County, Ohio circa 1818 to become the first school teacher in the county, according to "The History of Brown County, Ohio - 1884" by W. H. Beers & Co., Chicago, Illinois. The book also says that James was born in North Carolina.
