I have a lot of ideas! The Crum surname was well respected in this state 'back in the day'. I have so much information from many of my history books on this surname. I couldn't make a connection immediate though. I usually post this information to the message board for other folks searching but it is too expansive. It would be easiest for me to make copies and send via snail mail. Contact me at dakotaheartstrings@yahoo.com if you would like for me to do that. I expect nothing in return.

On a side note, ND didn't exist as a state in 1850. It was recognized as part of Dakota Territory in 1861 and became recognized as the state of ND in 1889. So, keep South Dakota in your mind also.
