I am interested in finding more information about John Gordon who born in the townland of Tulnadall,County Tyrone on Nov 1,1798.John emigrated to the United States in 1819 and settled in Chester County,Pennsylvania. In 1826 he married Sarah McCaughey 1804-1854 and after thirty plus years in Pennsylvania he moved to Salem township,Champaign County,Ohio.Sarah's connections Nathaniel and Janet (Stewart) McCaughey remained in Pennsylvania. John Gordon's parents were John and Jane (Hall) Gordon. John Gordon (sen) died in 1805 at a young age.He made his will on May 13th, 1805 and probate was granted on Oct 10th,1805. His wife Jane and five children ( John, James, Andrew,Margaret and Lillie) are mentioned as benefactors of his estate.James was my gggrandfather.Lillie married John Campbell of Bradkeel,Plumbridge County Tyrone,Ireland and they had eight children as listed on a fragment of the 1851 census of Ireland.About a year after Sarah died John married Mrs. Margaret Jane Witherow who was the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Parke)McClellan.John Gordon died on Aug 25, 1881 and was interred at Oakdale Cemetery.
