Carol J. Faithful, 79 of Zanesville, Ohio died 7:30 AM Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Cedar Hill Care Center following a lengthy illness.
She was born Thursday, April 20, 1933 in Coshocton, Ohio the daughter of Paul E. Dicken and Eleanor V. (Liggins) Stevens.
She married Melvin E. Faithful on Saturday, December 10, 1977 and was a member of the Greater Apostolic Church of Christ.
Carol retired from General Electric due to an illness. She was previously employed with Community Action Agency.
She loved working in and supporting the community. Among other community activity, she took pride in working at the voting polls during elections. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, shopping & more shopping & spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her husband: Melvin E. Faithful; four children Robert Bruce (Jennifer) Newman of North Carolina, Crystal (Raymond) Wallace of Cleveland, Ohio, Gail (Edgar) Romine of Zanesville, Ohio and Dawnita J. Newman of Florida; ten grandchildren; LaMont Scott, Sara & Jonathan Fields; Megan & Jordan Romine; Mark & Ryan Newman; Alyssa Green and Ashawna Newman, eight great grandchildren and one sister Barbara (Harold) Glover of Columbus; nieces and nephews and many very special friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father: Alfred E. Stevens; one brother: Paul E. "Buddy" Dicken Jr.; two sons: Steven E. Newman and Mark S. Newman
Visitation to be held from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, October 12, 2012, at The Greater Apostolic Church of Christ, 1651 South State Street, where funeral services will be held at 7:00PM with Elder Terrence Brown officiating.
Private burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Zanesville, Ohio.
