COSHOCTON: Dolly Elizabeth Freeman died peacefully on Friday, February 8, 2013.
Dolly was born on April 1, 1915, in Punxsutawney, PA to George and Amelia Simkins where she lived until the death of her mother.
She moved to Coshocton, Ohio with her father, three brothers and four sisters where she has lived for over 90 years.
Dolly was a registered nurse until she retired after WWII. She married James W. Freeman on November 5, 1937.
Dolly was preceded in death by James in 2004 and their youngest son, Andrew James in 2002; a son-in-law, Richard (Buzz) Walsh in 2005; and a granddaughter, Nichole Freeman in 2011.
She is survived by her five children; Patricia (Hugh) Lewis of Coshocton, Fleet (Maria) Freeman of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Alison (the late Buzz) Walsh of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Chris (Barbara) Freeman of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, and Amy (Bruce) Steingass of Pandora, Ohio;
13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Dolly was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church for over 60 years.
The family invites all of her friends and family to a celebration of Dolly's life at Grace United Methodist Church on her 98th birthday, April 1, 2013.
