Marie:
I noticed your posting. My great grandfather was Paul W. Trillitz von Nordeck zu Rabinau. My father has been doing extensive genealogy work on the von Nordeck line as well as some on his cousin. When I asked him what he knew, here is his reply:
It appears we have some common ancestors. Some of the information as I have it, is as follows. My grandfather was Paul Wilhelm Trillitz von Nordeck zur Rabenau, born in Gotha, Thuringen, Germany on 26 Oct 1853. He was the last of ten children. As you will realize there are many dates and events that are still to be discovered and we would welcome the sharing of information with you in learning a bit more about our families.
As you indicate, grandfather Paul came to the US with his cousin Paul Grzybowski. We don't have information on some of the dates and events, however as I understand it, his brother Fritz came over in 1864, with Paul coming later. Paul became a druggist or Pharmacist, studying in London, and I have a certificate from the National Institute of Pharmacy in Chicago, indicating he completed the course, dated the 1st. day of August, 1892. He was in Richfield, Utah in 1885 prior to that however. With further research on emigration records, I feel we may be able to gain further information on many dates.
The information I have lists Paul Grzybowski's parents as the Rev. Dr. Wilhelm Grzybowski and Dorothea Sabine Kummer. Paul G. is listed as the last of eight children. The common link apparently comes though the Kummer line, Paul vNzR's grandfather on his mother's side, Johann Carl(Sr) Kummer, and Paul Gs grandfather on his mother's side.
How's this for starters, we look forward to exchanging further information.
Respectfully,
Boyd von Nordeck Humpherys bjhumpherys@gmail.com
