William Cornell, who died on 10 March 1835 and was buried in the Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at Reynoldsburg OH, was born north of Taneytown MD, 3 Sept 1772. In his teens, he moved to Bedford Co PA with his father, William, and unwed siblings. In his late teens he would travel down across the Potomac with brothers John and Benjamin to what is now Grant Co WV. In 1807, William and Benjamin moved on to Ohio, as is confirmed in the “History of Franklin County” as Wm & Ben Connell from Virginia in Truro Twp. Benjamin, married in VA(WV), moved on to Indiana ~1812.
It was 1814 when William married Permilia Inks, who was 18 years younger than he. She was the daughter of John and Sarah Inks, who moved from Lancaster PA to Lancaster OH ~1801
William and Permilia would have 9 children over the years. Unknown female ~1816; Ann (1819) md cousin’s son- John Wolf; William (1817) never married; 2nd unknown female ~1823; Jacob (1824) md Phebe Alward in Licking Co; Unknown female ~1827; John W (1828) md Margery McBride in Muskegum Co; Mary P (1831) md Daniel C Vanduyne & moved to Iowa; And Levi (1833-1835).
Levi and Permilia, who died in 1882, are buried next to Wiliam.
