LOCAL SOLDIER IS
CASUALTY OF WAR
Pvt. Paul E. Richardson
Killed on Duty in
Italy
The War Department has notified
relatives here that Pvt Paul
E. Richardson, 34, of Hagerstown
was killed in action in Italy the
first part of February. He previously
had been reported missing
in action.
Pvt. Richardson was inductee
into the service in April, 1943, and
previous to his military service
was employed by the Western
Maryland Railway.
He has four other brothers in the
Army, one in the Southwest Pacific
one in England and two in Ohio.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall
L. Richardson of Sharpsburg
he is survived by his wife, Mrs
Margaret E. Richardson and son
Paul, Jr.; sisters, Mrs. Charles
Gossard and Miss Cora E. Richard
son, Hagerstown; Mrs. Norman
Grable, Plalnfield, Conn.; Mrs.
Charles Mills, Williamsport; Mrs.
Robert Griffith, Boonsboro, and
Miss Sarah Jane Richardson
Sharpsburg; brothers, Leo F. Rich
ardson, Hagerstown; Cpl. Eugene
M. Richardson, in the Southwest
Pacific; Pfc. Charles L. Richard
son, in England; Pfc. Cecil G
Richardson and Pfc. Marion A
Richardson, both in the Army in
Columbus, 0., and Carl R. Richardson,
Sharpsburg.
