William Franklin "Bill" Bierly Sr., age 78 of Logan, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013, unexpectedly at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
Born August 23, 1934 in Marion Township, Hocking County, Ohio, he was the son of Cleo Helen (Mohler) of Logan, Ohio and the late Albert Maywood Bierly.
Bill was the owner of Bierly Lumber and was a former Marion Township Trustee with sixteen years of service.
He was a member of the Faith Chapel Church, the Mingo #171 Masonic Lodge in Logan, Ohio, the Ohio National Guard and was an active representative of the Democratic party.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Clara Mae (Carpenter) of Logan, Ohio; two sons, Albert J. "AJ" (Kellie L.) Bierly of Logan, Ohio and William Bierly Jr. of Florida; one daughter, Corena (Kenneth) Logan of Sharonville, Ohio; step-daughter, Chris (Scott Bradley) Stepp of Athens, Ohio and five grandchildren, Camden Jacob Bierly of Logan, Ohio, Chelsea, Chesney and Kenny Logan all of Sharonville, Ohio and Violet Bradley of Athens, Ohio.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Marjorie Ann Bierly.
A funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Roberts Funeral Home-Logan, Ohio with Reverend William Huffines officiating.
Burial will follow in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Good-Hope Township, Hocking County, Ohio.
Friends may call Sunday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
