William J. “Bill” Reed, 44, passed on into eternity April 26, 2013, after a long struggle with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.

Bill was born in Steubenville, Ohio on Feb. 6, 1969.

He graduated in 1987 from Wintersville High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Youngstown State University.

Bill was working on his terminal degree in Chemistry and was regarded as one of YSU’S finest. He was awarded the Graduate Student Award where he demonstrated unusual ability, enthusiasm, leadership, and intellectual independence and in his research achieved recognition beyond the University.
Bill also received the Ohio Chapter of the American Institute of Chemists Award, the Society for Analytical Chemistry of Pittsburgh Award.
He strongly influenced the lives of many in the Science community.

Bill enjoyed the outdoors, birds and loved fly-fishing, camping and cooking out on the open fire.

Those left here to mourn include his wife, Beth; four children; parents, William and Tinnie Reed; sisters, Tina (Michael) Clutter, Teresa (Brian) Means, and Cathy (Greg) Roscoe; brother Joseph Reed; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Donald “Danny” Argano; paternal grandfather, Thomas B. Reed and grandmother, Alberta Miller Reed.

Visitation will be held at the Everhart- Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Road in Wintersville, Ohio on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
There will also be visitation on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m.
