Joseph Van Valey
Joseph William Van Valey, 75, of Port Orchard, died August 22, 2001, at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 9, 1925, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, to Joseph and Opal (Hendershot) Van Valey.
Mr. Van Valey served in the Marine Corps during World War II.
He married Gloria Rechinni on January 9, 1948, in Seattle. She preceded him in death in 1993.
He married Isabel Monk on July 29, 1994, in Reno, Nevada.
Mr. Van Valey worked for Pacific Northwest Bell for 36 years, retiring in 1981.
He was a Master Gardener and enjoyed wintering in Arizona.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Christine Barber of Bremerton; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service was held Monday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
