CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Services were held Monday, April 15, 2013, at the Rosadale Funeral Home for Mr. Fredrick F. Bennett, 70, who passed away, Tuesday, April 9, 2013.
Fred was born Oct. 20, 1942, in Youngstown, a son of James A. and Robertha Blunt Bennett.
Fred attended North High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
He was free spirited, loved music and would befriend anyone.
Fred loved truck driving and committed 16 years of service to the Yellow Freight Trucking Company.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Donnetta Bennett of Charlotte; children, Fredrick Bennett of Salisbury, N.C., Charice L. Bennett of Youngstown, Crystal Bennett of Hubbard, Ohio, Lamont Bennett of Cleveland, Ohio, Devereaux Bennett of Fredrick, Md., and Tiant Bennett of Charlotte; stepdaughter, Renee Tidwell of Clarksburg, W.Va.; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Carrie Walker, Connie DeBouse, Uleda Joyce Bennett and Cynthia Bennett, all of Youngstown, and Paula (Earlee) Nelson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brothers, James Bennett and Julius (Germaine) Bennett, both of Youngstown, OH; and a host of family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Derick Bennett I; great-grandson, Derick III; a brother, Reginald Bennett; and sister, Andromeda Clay.
