Hoping to find obituaries/cemetary records for my gg grandparents. Found them on the 1920/1930 census records for Cherokee City, at W. 5th St. In 1930, Calvin was 75, Kate was 72. If anyone has any info, I'd be very happy to receive it!
Also was told Calvin was at one time a constable of Cherokee and would love to confirm that!

Marty: Thank you very much for taking the time to research this!! Katherine .F. Crilly who was married to Calvin Crilly was born around 1856, but they had a daughter named Katherine (named after her mother), and she must be the one you found in the Cherokee Cemetary. The dates for C.J. sound correct. They may have lived in Ingersoll, OK which I know is near Cherokee. Is it true Ingersoll is a ghost town now? Thanks again!!

Yes it is true that Ingersoll is a ghost town. The only 3 businesses left there and they are not the original Ingersoll businesses. They are Silar's Radiater Shop, The Smoke Shak a barbeque place and The Ingersoll Bull Wash. That is a cattle truck washing business.

From the Cherokee Republican, July 25, 1930, front page.

"MRS. CAL CRILLEY DIES WEDNESDAY
Pioneer Woman Taken After Illness Lasting Almost One Year
Mrs. Cal CRILLEY, one f the pioneer women of the Cherokee Strip, was taken in death Wednesday evening about 11 o'clock. Death followed a prolonged and painful illness which has extended over the past year. The immediate cause of the passing was a paralytic attack which came shortly before the demise.
Due to Mrs. Crilley's prolonged, serious illness, most of her children and immediate relatives had been summoned to her bedside. Those who were near her at the time of death were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Palmer, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Duke & son of Dodge City, Kansas; R.G. Crilley of Hutchinson, Kansas; J.C. Crilley of Dodge City, Kansas; Mrs. J.C. Thompson & daughter of Barstow, California; Mrs. Kate Donvanbill of Dodge City, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Garrett & daughter of Kansas City; and J. C. Crilley of Sheridan, Wyoming. Mrs. Jack Hamilton of Williams, Arkansas, another daughter, had been at her mother's bedside for some days but left for her home late last week. She had not been found for notification of her mother's death late Thursday.
Funeral services will be held at the Christian Church, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock."

Ms. Wettengel:
Thank you for very much for taking the time to type up this info! I didn't know her date of death before this. It also helps verify her children and their married names! By any chance, do you know what day of the week the July 25, 1930 issue of the Cherokee Republican was printed?

Thanks again!

Cal Crilley ran a saloon in Ingersoll, Woods Co., Ok in the early days. I have written a book about Ingersoll 1893-2006.
He tried to start a saloon in Cherokee, but the town did not want a saloon so he moved to Ingersoll. Then the saloons were closed down in 1906. He then became a city marshall in Cherokee.

Cal Crilley tried to start a saloon in Cherokee, Oklahoma but the town people wanted no saloons in their town. So he moved to Ingersoll and had a saloon there until 1906 when all the saloons were closed down. He then became the city marshall in Cherokee and raised a fine family there.
