The 1900 and 1910 US FED. Census has my ggrandparents living in Atoka, Tx./Atoka,Okla. My ggrandparents were Joseph TRAVIS and Ellen BUTLER(both b. Tenn. abt. 1875) and William Joseph (Joe)BOYLE(S) and Mary Elizabeth SAUNDERS(SANDERS)b.? abt.?.
Joseph and Ellen had the following children: Glen, Trula, Eugene, Alvis, Boyd, Opal, Preston, Velma and J.E.
Joe and Mary had these following children: Muriel, Roberta Annie, and Sarah (Lucille).
I believe that they may have come from the Bonham or Fannin Co. area of Texas but this is not comfirmed yet. Moved to near Wapanucka, Okla. but were listed as living in Atoka Co.
Joseph and Ellen lived "up on the mountain, in a stone house, about 3 miles east of Wapanucka, Okla." The house was supposed to later have been taken apart stone by stone and numbered and rebuilt at another location (Mill Creek?) Ellen died in childbirth abt.1927. Joseph may have remarried once or twice after that. Family called someone--(Mrs. Stevens (Stephens?) and a Mrs. Belnot? Belmont? Joseph was reported to have contracted TB from one of these two wives. Joseph was a tenent farmer. Joseph and Ellen are supposedly both buried in the Wapanucka Cemetery. Wapanucka had a fire and most records were distroyed.
Joe and Mary SAUNDERS, moved to Davidson, Okla. where he was a blacksmith. Mary died and Joe supposedly remarried once or twice (Unknown wives names?) Joe and Mary are both buried in the Davidson Cemetery.
Any info on any of these families or info about the relocation of the "moved house" would be *greatly* appreciated. Will share what info that I have. THANKS and warm regards, Debbie
