Hello....
Is there a system to find out if a family member is buried there in Highland? I know for sure that several of my family members are, but I am looking for Sarah Whittle. It would be very old...she passed away in 1910. Thank you Sheri Green Howell.

I am trying to find information about William H. Greenwalt born 1838 in Kentucky and died Aug.3,1911 in Yarnaby, Oklahoma. I am not sure where he is buried, but I would like to have a photo of his headstone. He was married to Mary Green in St. Louis, MO. There children were: George Edward, Rosanna, Winnitt Lee, and Mary Isabelle.
I have reason to believe that William is the brother of my great great grandfather Richard M. Greenwalt.
Any help will be much appreciated!
Daphne

If you're still looking (five years later) --

Not sure where you can get your own copy these days, other than by inheritance. My parents swear they've given one to my sister and to me, but I can't find mine! I copied a lot of pages from their copy recently.

Anyway, several libraries have the book, including that of Southeastern State University in Durant, OK and the Durant Public Library (Robert L. Williams Public Library). Links below. Perhaps you can arrange an inter-library loan through your local library? Good luck!

http://www.se.edu/lib/

http://library.durant.org/common/welcome.jsp;jsessionid=11BB...
I am looking for relations of Arthur E. and Joyce McKinney who can verify their indentities, and those of other family members, in some photographs that I have. Arthur E. McKinney was born Aug. 9, 1919 in Oklahoma and died on June 12, 1978; his wife Joyce was born May 4, 1926 and died on July 12, 1980. Both are buried in the Garden of Memory Cemetery, Colbert, Bryan County, OK. I'm fairly certain that the couple, and at least two small children, were in the Calfornia Bay Area for a period of time in the years following World War II. Please contact me if you have any leads... thank you!

Hi,
Please send it to art-frame@earthlink.net. That is my usual email I check daily.
The boys were twins and their brother was also there and witnessed the accident. He never married and it appears that it made an impact on his life seeing his brothers killed in the accident.
I received a copy of the newspaper article text from another source. We always thought the accident happened in Arkansas, as that was where the family lived. But because of the kindness of a researcher, I was told the boys were buried in Wade, Ok. That changed the location of the search and led to finding the river where they died. The family must have been on a visit or considered moving there and changed their minds after the accident. Not sure, but they were in Arkansas during the census before and after the accident.
Thanks for you assistance, my daughter and I have worked on the family history for years. It is our hobby to do together.

Please send me an email so that I can scan and send...or can I attach a file here? I have a little digging to do so I will try to locate it and get it to you Monday...I know your anxious but I am off Friday and don't have a scanner at home if you can believe that. If you know the Wade cemetary perhaps you ran onto the Shastids, Dentons, or Whitworths. My great grandparents Samuel and Margaret Shastid are there along with both sets of grandparents Branum and Cassie Denton and Sherman and Viola Shastid and a baby 2nd cousin Odie Loyd Whitworth also other Shastid uncles and aunts. My dad used to tell the story of the little boys killed when that bridge collapsed but for some reason I thought they were twins and last name French but when I saw your request I knew it had to be the same incident...and dad always said it was the Blue River.

I don't recognize them. There were lots of Vinsons in Texas around 1900, most from NC and SC by way of AL then TN or LA. Al Vinson does lots of research on the other lines. He may know more about your particular line. Sorry I can't help.
