Gun Victim's Rites Saturday at Sapulpa
Sapulpa, June 6 - Services for Joe Clifton Romine, 26, of Enid, former Sapulpan, will be held at 3pm Saturday in the Owen Funeral Chapel here.
Mr. Romine apparently was killed accidently with his own gun while hunting Tuesday. He was found slumped over his .410 guage shotgun by his hunting companion, north of Hennessey.
The pair reportedly were hunting squirrels and had separated before the accident.
Born at Kellyville, Mr. Romine live in this area until going to Enid last January. He was employed at Vance Air Force base on a construction crew building a runway. He was a Navy veteran.
Survivors include the widow, Doris; four brothers, Jack Romine, Floyd Romine, Sapulpa; Bob Romine, Rogers, AR; and four sisters, Mrs. Opal LONG, Kellyville; Mrs. Elva PARKER, Sapulpa; Mrs. Nora HURST, Hurst, TX; and Mrs. Ora Boylon (correct spelling BOLIN), Selma, CA; a half-brother, Walter Romine of Sapulpa and a half-sister, Mrs. Maude PIERCE, Campbell, CA.
Interment will be in South Heights cemetery here.
