My Justice (Jestes) family came to the Allen, Hughes Co. area about 1903 from LeFlore Co. (Poteau area). I have been told that they may have also lived in the Tupelo area and in the Dustin area. Fannie J. Jestes married Amos Marshall Dean in the Poteau area and moved to Allen. One of their daughters (my grandmother) married Hollie Gilbert Cousins in Allen in 1917.
Fannie is buried in the Allen city cemetery. I can find no mention of her birth, in MS, I think, nor where she died. There is no record or obituary. She died in 1914. There is some confusion about the spelling of the name; Fannie's father James Thomas Justice changed the spelling of his name to Jestes when he can to OK from MS. Hollie Gilbert Cousins was from San Saba, TX. The Deans also came from MS I think.
