My dad's G-ma was Amanda Keel, a chickasaw indian. Amanda was daughter of Molsie (aka Maulsie)Pickens. Maulsie's first husband was Louis (Lewis) Keel; they had 3 children, Amanda, Johnsie (?sp, Johnson), Esau (died abt 14 yr old). Maulsie in later years married mar Lewis's bro., Hogan Keel. Both Lewis & Hogan was in the Chickasaw Legislature.
Amanda was a very interesting person. Amanda's first husband was Alford Greenwood, issue 3 boys 1. Alphius Greenwood (killed on 21st birthday by raiding 'wild' indians from the west, probabaly commanche) 2. Simeon Greenwood 3. Esau, all full blood chickasaw. Amanda lived in the "Keel settlement" just SE of Reagan, Oklahoma.
After Alford's death, Amanda married Wilson Greenwood, aka Thomas Wilson Greenwood, a brother of Alford's. They had 2 boys, twins, Lemuel (Lem) & Edmond Pickens Greenwood.
Apparently, Amanda & Thomas Wilson Greenwood 'split the blanket' (divorced). I believe Wilson married again and had more children.
Amanda then married a Burney Underwood, they had 4 children.
1. Daisy Underwood (my g-ma) (aka Clemmie Daisy Underwood) married Watson Carter of Connerville, then William Payne
2. Rosa (aka Rosie) will marry Frank Owens, then Howard Hays
3. Issac Newton Underwood (a twin) - marries Carrie Tuley
4. Bennie Underwood, died as a baby.
Amanda & Burney 'split the blanket' and Burney marries again had has 2 children.
Amanda then marries T. J. Fisher (Thomas Jefferson Fisher) from Stephenvile, Texas. They have one boy, Louis Keel Fisher aka "Pete".
Amanda's children were all enrolled as full blood chickasaw, except Pete was 1/2 blood. My Aunt advises me that Amanda also wed a Joe Fletcher, maybe as many as 3 times (or it may be that they just "shared a blanket').
If this seems complicated, wait until I explain that Daisy & Watson Carter's daughter, Geraldine marries Robert Payne, a little brother of William Edward Payne Sr. (my g-pa).
