Joe Williamson went to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 29, due to complications from surgery. He was born on Sept. 16, 1935, in Blanchard, Okla. as James Ollie Williamson but his friends and family just called him "Joe."

His family relocated to Buckeye, Ariz. in 1940 and then on to Richmond, Calif. in 1944. Joe settled in Madera a few years later where Joe graduated from Madera Union High School. He worked all over the California Central Valley operating heavy equipment.

In 1957, he wed Bonnie Lucille Mahan, who preceded him in passing in 1982. As a young groom, he was drafted into the US Army in 1958, where he served on the Island of Formosa for 2 years. Returning home, he worked in construction with Ray Mahan, his father-in-law. Joe relocated to Murphy, Ore. in 1962 where he was employed at Murphy Creek Saw Mill.

Joe wed Sherrill Weaver in 1985, and founded H & H Ranch, which they ran together. Joe's hobbies included gardening, farming and reading. A big part of his life revolved around being an elder at the Wonder Bible Chapel. He also enjoyed involvement in the Neighborhood Watch program and CERT.

Joe is survived by his wife, Sherrill Lynn Williamson; brothers, J.D. Williamson, of Arkansas, and Jim Williamson of Jacksonville, Ore; mother-in-law, Hazel Mahan; brother-in-law, Buddy Mahan; sister-in-law, Nancy Gilliland; children, Danny Williamson, Cindy Valencia and Kim Todd; stepchildren, Sherry Rasco, Mike Hinson, and Debbie Hinson; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Please join us for a celebration of his life at the Wonder Bible Chapel, Sunday April 5th at 2 p.m. The family respectfully requests donations be made to Wonder Bible Chapel in lieu of flowers at P.O. Box 77, Selma, OR 97538.
