My Great grandmother was Sarah Govett, who came from St Dominick in Cornwall UK. She was the daughter of Thomas Barable Govett. I beleive that Govett is a Cornish name meaning Smith (blacksmith). There are numerous Govett's in the census data for Cornwall and they also appear in Tasmania, Australia.
