Mass for Harvey D. Franklin, 56, of 906 W. Grand, pioneer
state resident, will be held at 9:30 am Monday in the
Catholic church in Poteau, with burial in Shadypoint.
Franklin died early Saturday morning in St Anthony hospital
of a heart attack. He had been ill about a month. Funeral
arrangements are under the direction of Hunter funeral home.
Born in Williams, Franklin lived there nearly all of his life. He had been a resident of Oklahoma City about the last eight years. He was a retired rancher.
Surviving are his wife, Emogene, of the home; a sister, Mrs
Coy Bretz, of Tulsa, and another sister living in California.

MARIE A. CAPELL
Services for Marie A. Capell, 80, of 2229 SW 30, will be
at 2 pm Saturday in the Catholic Church at Poteau with
burial in Shadeypoint. She died Wednesday in St Anthony
Hospital.
She was born in France and moved to Coalgate in 1911. She
came to Oklahoma City three years ago. She was a Catholic.
Survivors include a son, Ambrose Louis Jr, Poteau, and six
daughters, Mrs Emogene Franklin, of the home; Mrs H.D. Holley, 6508 S. Barnes; Mrs John Hudson, 1601 Birch; Mrs James Jacobs, 4535 SE 19; Mrs Warren D. Strickland, 517 SE 39, and Mrs Ray Modisette, Choctaw.

Jon Rice, assistant district director for finance and
investment for the U.S. Small Business Administration's
Oklahoma City office, has announced his retirement
effective Wednesday.
Rice, 54, has 25 years of federal service with the SBA
and has supervised the local district's commerical
lending activities since 1970.
Over the past 16 years, Rice has worked with about 350
Oklahoma banks that have together loaned more than $500
million to Oklahoma small businesses. He is also re-
sponsible for a loan portfolio which currently totals
about $225 million.

Emogene Capell, born Feb.22, 1913 in Lehigh, OK, died
March 12, 1996 at the age of 83 after a lengthy illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father,
two sisters and one brother.
Survivors include her sisters, Rochelle Hudson, Mary Jacobs,
Mildred Strickland and Mary Ann Modisette; also one niece
and several nephews.
She will be greatly missed by her family. Arrangements are
being made by Hunter Funeral Home, services will be held by
Evans-Miller Funeral Home in Poteau, OK, Sat. at 1:30 pm.
Burial will be in Shasy Point, OK.

MODISETTE
Ray Allen, 73, of Choctaw, died Tuesday, June 25, 1996.
He was the youngest son of 16 children born to William and
Emma Modisette, in Blanco, OK, on May 7, 1923, and baptized
in the Baptist Church.
After attending school in Plainview, Ok, he served in the
US Army during WWII. He returned to Oklahoma after military
service and worked for Armour Meat Packing Company and
Safeway, Inc, until his retirement.
Ray is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Ann, of the
home; 2 sons, Raymond Allen Modisette & wife Janice, Rick
Lee Modisette & wife Carol; 2 granddaughters, KariAnn Mod-
isette & Amanda Marie Modisette; 4 gradnsons, Trent Ray
Modisette, Jeff Eric Monroe & Jay Cleve Monroe, all of
Choctaw, OK. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Edwin
Modisette of Oregon & Willie W. Modisette of Wayside, Tx;
5 sisters, Anna Mae Studder of Canyon, TX, Beatrice Brawner
& Christine Ford of Amarillo, TX, Jane Hall of McAlester,
OK, & Evelyn Blair of Colorado Springs, CO.
Ray was a loving husband, father and brother, and a very
special grandpa. His wonderful sense of humor and caring
smile will be remembered always. Services will be Thursday,
June 27, 10:00 am, in the Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral
Home with burial at Shady Point Cemetery, Shady Point, OK.
