Hello all… I’m working on trying to figure out the history and a timeline of the various schools in the Asher area and need some help!
I am trying to get a location on these schools. If anyone knows about where these were located (or anything else about them), I’d appreciate any feedback.
1st? Asher School (c.1900-1913). White frame, 2 story, L shape with porch. Photo: http://flickr.com/photos/asherok/2254207546/in/set-721576038...
2nd? Asher School (c. 1914-1930). Brick, 2 story, with small front porch. Photo: http://flickr.com/photos/asherok/2254210722/in/set-721576038...
Pleasant Hill/Scrounge Out (c. 1890s). Log cabin. Photo: http://flickr.com/photos/asherok/2309267106/in/set-721576038...
Coulter (c. 1910s). Small white frame SE of Asher. Photo: http://flickr.com/photos/asherok/2315766108/in/set-721576038...
Gravel Hill (c. 1903-aft 1917). Small white frame NE of Asher. Schoolhouse may have moved to Asher campus when it closed. Photo: http://flickr.com/photos/asherok/2308466351/in/set-721576038...
Avoca (1892-?). One source says it was near the current cemetery. Schoolhouse may have moved to Asher campus when it closed.
Cook (1892-aft. 1920). Possibly near Pott/Seminole line.
Lazell (1895-1903). Log cabin, 2 ½ mi E of Asher near Chisholm Springs.
Also, please let me know if you know of any others.
Sorry, I tried to do links to the pictures, but I don't guess the thread didn't like it.
Thanks for any help!
