Graveside services for Bernadine Glassey, age 82 of Pampa, Texas were held Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at Sayre-Doixey Cemetery in Sayre, Oklahoma, with Rev. Bobby Glassey, her son, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa, Texas.
Mrs. Glassey was born April 6, 1928 in Clinton, Oklahoma. She married R.V. Glassey on May 19, 1946 in Gem City, Texas. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1983. She had been a resident of Chickasha since 1974. Bernadine was passionate about reading her Bible and working crossword puzzles. She was always there for her family when they needed her, and she gave many years of patience, undderstanding and guidance.
Survivors include 4 daughters: Patricia "Ann" Glover and husband Loyd; Jessie Rush and husband Robert; Valonda Richardson and husband Jay, all of Chickasha, Oklahoma; and Frances Threadgill and husband John of Pampa, Texas; a special adopted daughter: Verllie "Little Bit" Perez; 2 sons: Bobbyh Lee Glassey and wife Lisa of Marshall, Texas, and Rusty Glassey of Chickasha, Oklahoma; special friends: Clarence and Wanda Wright; 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 2 sons: Ernest Glassey in 1959 and Rodney Wayne Glassey in 2009.
