Darby Family - Marshall Oklahoma

Seeking information on my GG parents. My Great Grandfather was James Oliver Darby, Great Grandmother was Jesse Darby born 7 July 1874. They had twin daughters, Ella and Della (my Grandmother)and a son Jesse Harold Darby who was supposedly born in a log cabin on Delta Creek. Previous information relates that they were buried in the North Marshall IOOF Cemetery in Garfield County Oklahoma. I am presently in Iraq so my research capabilities are limited. Any help or guidance on getting further information would be greatly appreciated.

Edward Terhune married Marie Ware. her parents were A.C. Ware (Andrew Cyrus) born 1872-1970 and Annie Burg Ware born 1877-1970 buried Marlow Oklahoma. Her siblings were Myrtle and Dewey Ware born around 1900.....

Edward and Marie Ware Terhune had two daughters Annie V. Terhune Shelly born 1919 Oklahoma, and Myrtle Marie Terhune born 1921. They moved to Colorado abt. 1930. Edward died abt. 1955 Denver Colorado....

Also A.C Ware's parents were William Ware and Mary Langston.

I'm looking for a birth or death certificate for the Arthur baby. He is buried at Summit View with the rest of my family. I believe he was born and died in 1922 in Guthrie. I've heard my whole life that he lived for several months but I was never told his name. His stone simply says "BABY". His parents were Emba Burhl and Olive Orene Arthur.
Also, I would like to have any information on my paternal grandparents, Rosa M. and Edgar F. Huffman. They are also buried at Summit View.

My great-great grandfather was Joseph Karr. He was born around September 1852 in either Kansas, Missouri, or Mississippi. He died in either December 1928 or 1929. He is buried in either Ryan Jefferson County, OK or Waurika, OK. I have been trying to find out when Joseph Karr died. I have looked and looked and I do not know what else I can do in order to find his date of death.

Joseph Karr married Susan Deal on June 17, 1883 in Fannin County, Texas. They had four children George Washington Karr (born February 26, 1884), John Franklin Henry Karr (born May 10, 1891 in Winthrop, AR), Mattie Karr, and Alice Karr. Alice Karr died around 1903 in Caddo, OK. Susan Deal died in 1893 and is buried in Winthrop, AR.

I am searching for the death date and place for Ambrose M. Holland who was born in Cartersville, Bartow, Georgia in about 1840. He appeared on the 1920 Census of Guthrie, Logan, Oklahoma as head of household, age 77. His son Charles appeared on the 1930 census, still in Guthrie, but not his father, whom I assume had died. I would really appreciate help.

Researching Mailes family from Arkansas & Oklahoma. Only record I have is of W.W. Mailes on 1930 US Census, residing in Maricopa Cnty., AZ with sons Billie & Teddy Mailes, (who were born in Oklahoma) It states on the Census record that W.W. is a widower. I have no name for his wife or for him (just initials W.W.). Census also states that he was born in Arkansas, and so was his father. His mother was born in Missouri. His sons, Billie and Teddy were born in Oklahoma. Any information whatsoever would be greatly appreciated, as I have been stuck on this name for over a year! H-E-L-P-!

I am a descendant of Nellie Bly Baker O'Bryan, born 1893, native of Oklahoma Logan and Yukon Counties who later became a Hollywood actress and founder of the first Mono County Museum in North Eastern California.

I'm currently preparing a book on her life and am researching her childhood in Oklahoma. Her parents names were Newbon Jasper Baker (originally from Kentucky) and Margaret Baker. John O'Bryan, her husband, was from Kansas and served in WWI overseas. Nellie attended a convent in Guthrie during the early 1900's and later A & M College(Oklahoma University), and Henry Kendall College (Tulsa University).

I have conducted extensive research of her adult life in California, but am anxious to learn more about her childhood in rural Oklahoma during the turn of the century.

I am searching for information about my grandfather and family who lived in Logan Count, OK during the depression era. His name was Ira Elmore Shackelford and his wife's name Mary Alice Rainey. They lived at 708 North Broad Street in Guthrie. He was a water well driller and drilled may water wells through out the county. My father, Voyghtle Vernon Shackelford was born in Guthrie in 1903 and I was born in Guthrie in 1927. My grandparents came to Guthrie shortly after the land rush in 1899, I don't know exactly when. They were not Sooners or Boomers.......

My Silas Alexander Hoover died 17 Jul 1909, most probably in Guthrie. He and his family had been resident there since abt 1900, having moved to Guthrie from Webster Co, MO. He ran a livery stable and later was a horse dealer. He was married to Martha Ellen [Carrick] Hoover.

My grandmother, Julia Permelia DOLSBY, was born 8 JUN 1894 in Mulhall, Oklahoma Territory. Her parents were Mahlon DOLSBY and Lucy Ruth LIVESAY. I would like to know more about what land they claimed, if indeed they did. What is the best way to go about this search? I don't think they stayed in Oklahoma very long because Mahlon died in Pindell, Searcy County, Arkansas.

Mystery Why buried in Summit View-Angeline Wacaster Scheets(sheets)

My Kin Angeline Wacaster Scheets or (Sheets) was born in Utah in 1905, lived with her husband in Los Angeles in 1945 at her death 7/6/1945 and was sent to be buried in Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie Ok. on 7-9-1945.

He husband (on Death cert.) Carl H. Scheets was also listed in 1930 census as Carl H. Sheets with a different wife Gladys.

To my knowledge none of them were from OK.

Is there a listing somewhere that has those buried in Summit View Cemetery, so I can see if there are any other Scheets, Sheets, Wacaster or Wacester's listed in the cemetery??

Perhaps they had children buried there that I don't know about.

What would YOU do as a next step?? Anyone have any thoughts.

I am looking for info about JC(or CJ) Jamison, who lived one mile east of Guthrie, OK on Oklahoma Avenue County Road in 1905. He came to OK in the great rush in 1889, was a member of Arbitration Board No. One, a City Councilman, Justice of the Peace for Guthrie and Adjutant General of the Territory under the Renfrow Administration, organizing the first regiment of OK National Guards. He came from MO and had a wife, Sarah and one child, Annie Block. They called their farm "Highland Fruit farm". Any info will be greatly appreciated, especially an obit. In the county where I live (Vanderburgh, IN), the Health Dept. will issue a death record transcript ($3.00) for genealogical purposes as opposed to an official Death Certificate ($11.00). I find this very useful when I'm just wanting to find parent information, cemetery, cause of death, etc. Does the Logan Co. Health Dept. do the same?

I have found Fitzpatricks in Logan County in the 1893 directory: Joseph J, and William with the notation of ne1/4 23-182 after the names.

Carrie died in 1920 in Colorado. There are photos of her taken about 1910 in a geneal store with the name FitzPatrick Bros

I know they were in Gutherie and Eufala area. My grandmother Charlotte Cordray (Cordrey) was born in Ft. Gibson. My mother was born in Eufala July 31, 1921, place of residence on birth record Gutherie. All of my aunts say they lived on the same farm until around 1931 when they moved to Avondale, Arizona. My grandfather's brother and sister in law was Ed and Rusha Taylor. He had other siblings but am not sure of their names right now.
My grandmother's father was Seaborn Cordrey died 1899, mother Nancy J. remarried Robert Withrow in 1901.

I have found Sarah, Clarence and Fred living next to her son-in-law Jasper N. Parsons with his wife Nona and their three children Melvin, Rudolph, and Eva in 1910 in Guthrie, Logan County. I have no information on these families up to a certain point. I know that David was born in Illinois and Jasper was born in Indiana. Sarah Melvina Daniels married George Mack Gambill, my g'parents. They had Harry, John, Walter, a minister, Virgel, and Ethel Gambill Brown. My father was Harry Homer Gambill. He wed Winnie Irma Bostwick, and had Ethel Lois Gambill Tooley, Nelda Mae Gambill Loveless, Jack Melvin Gambill, Orpha Jean Gambill Cook, Bessie Melvina Gambill Kerfoot, Wilmer Irwin Gambill, Sarah Ellen Gambill Holliday.

Jean, The first Captiol of Oklahoma is now part of the Oklahoma Scottish Rite Masonic Center in Guthrie. I would suggest you contact them at 405-282-1281 ask for Bob Davis the General Secretary or Charles Scott the building Archivist.
Tour the building at www.guthriescottishrite.org. Go to Temple link on the left and then Temple Tour and visit the Ballroom. There is an explanation of the history of the room.
If you note the floor plan of the rooms only the Ballroom was part of the original Captiol.

She was the daughter of Benjamin F. HALL and Elizabeth L. ADAMS. In 1870 at age 14, she was working as a domestic servant to the Howard Baker family in Stanford, Monroe Co. That family was her mother’s brother’s wife’s brother. In 1880 she was living with her brothers Edward and Charles in Bloomington, Indiana, District 283.

On April 28, 1910, she lived in Guthrie, Logan Co., OK where she was in charge of the Oklahoma Children's Home Society. She was single. She might have married a Mr. Nay late in life.
