Looking for further information on the following:
William and Mary Wofford. William was honorably discharged from the First Regiment Indian Infantry Home Guard on May 31st, 1865 at Fort Gibson. He is listed as 30 years old, 5'8", black hair and eyes. His name was spelled incorrectly on the discharge paperwork as "Worford". I have a copy of this paperwork. Mary Wofford (maiden/indian name unknown) applied for soldier pension on 5/10/1878. They had 2 sons, Joseph Wofford b.12/25/1854(on Dawes roll under Worfford) and Frank Wofford (on Dawes roll correctly).
Joseph Wofford married Nancy Ellen Davis b.2/2/1871, who is the daughter of Charles H. Davis and Isadora Sheldon M.1865. Family story says Isadora was placed in an orphanage school at a young age, after her parents died either during or right after the Trail of Tears. I wish I had some additional family info on Isadora.
Henry And Electer Crittenden is the other side I'm trying to research. They had 2 sons, Charles Wesley Crittenden b.1856, and James Crittenden b?. I can only guess that Henry and Electer were born circa 1830.
If any of this fits with your search, I would be most grateful to swap information.
