All that I know is that my great-grandmothers name was Nellie Moon and she was a member of the CHerokee Nation at tone point but I have been told that she was forced to sign away her rights in order to marry my great-grandfather(Evans) Any information would be appreciated.

My great-grandmother was Nettie Moon and she married Charles Smith in Oklahoma, USA Nettie was born about 1885 and Charles was born about 1878. I can verify these dates , but just don't have the information close at hand. I believe they were living in Pottawatomie County, in the town of Maud, Okla. My grandmother was born in Hobart, Okla. and I know that they were farmers. My gram. used to say that she was "Black Dutch" and I have come to understand that sometimes was a term for American Indians that didn't want to tell their heritage. I have a Nellie Moon, b-16 Feb 1898, d-7 Oct 1989
Buried in Dripping Springs Cemetery in Noble, Cleveland Co, OK. Near Oklahoma City.
She had a sister Mary and brothers Luther and Raymond.
I don't know who she married, but I have her parents and grandparents.

My great grandfather was Jesse James MOON b 1872 d 1961. I am hoping he may some how be connected to your Moons. He married Addie Clontz b 1880 d 1947.

In searching out my family, I found obits to Jesse and Addie's sons, Walter and Dempsey. The obits stated they were born in Tecumseh, Oklahoma (near Maud). Also the name Nettie really stuck out for me.

Jesse and Addie and the family eventually ended up in Grayson Co, Texas.
