Thanks for your inquiry, but I don't know of any relatives in Massachusetts. My Kamppinens (some of whom took the surname Kamppila or Kampy after they got to the U.S.) seem to have gone directly from Ylistaro parish, Finland to the Clatsop County, Oregon and Pacific County, Washington area. I have been tracing five of nine children of Matti and Helviikik Karoliina Kamppinen. The five children that I know about made the move to the Pacific Northwest around 1890. I don't know what happened to the other four siblings--I have been assuming that they stayed in Finland, but of course it is possible that they went to Massachusetts instead. If your family came from Ylistaro parish, please let me know!
