I saw your message referencing Polk Co and wondered if you know the Polk Co. Museum has been amassing informaton about past and present families for years now. I married into a family that has long roots in Buena Vista. They were also very active in the historical society. We have long had family burials at Buena Vista, usually meeting for dinner at on of the original homesteads when it was still family occupied. There was always somebody there peddling the latest book from the museum. That generation is almost all gone now but I understand new books are still being put together. One we have has family stories from anyone who had Polk Co. connections past or present, complete with many photos. That book helps connect the dots between our various family lines. My MIL tells me the museum is still doing those books.
