Cyrus Vawter, the son of Beverly and Elizabeth (Crawford) Vawter, was born near Madison, Indiana, 28 Sep 1830; married in Linn County, Oregon, 10 Dec 1857, to Sarah A. Finley, who was born in Platt County, Missouri, 18 May 1840. Cyrus went to Oregon with Philemon Vawter Crawford and family in the year 1851. They went by water to St. Joseph, Missouri, and from there went overland with an ox team. It took them six months to make the trip from Madison to the Willamette Valley in Oregon. Cyrus Vawter located at a place then known as Boston Mills, where he bedcame the owner of large flouring mills. He died in Linn County, Oregon, 11 Feb 1864 and was buried at Crawfordsville, Oregon. His wife remarried a man by the name of RIBELIN and lived in Halsey, Linn County, Oregon. Would like any information about this family and the man by the name of RIBELIN.
