A funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2000, in Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home for David L. MacMillan, who died June 24 at age 79.

Mr. MacMillan was born July 5, 1920, in Portland and was raised in Lebanon. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. In 1956, he moved to Portland and was a typesetter and printer for several firms, including Schlegel Typesetting, Glass Dahlstrom, Durham & Downey Printers and Graphic Arts Center, before his retirement in 1982. He was a member of All Saints' Episcopal Church and sang in the Scandinavian Male Chorus. In 1947, he married Alida Tiedemann.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Peggy "Annie" MacMillan and Frances E. Herigstad; sons, Robert B., William E. and David L.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Private interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park. The family suggests remembrances to a favorite charity.
