Clarence "Bud" Fluharty, 75, of Raccoon Township, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2002.
Born in Pittston, Pa., on Jan. 28, 1927, he was a son of the late Clarence and Hazel (Rodgers) Fluharty. He was a retired employee of the Dravo Corp., where he worked as a machine fitter, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry, and an infant son, Mark Fluharty; an infant great-granddaughter, Emma Gartz, and a brother who died as an infant, Jonnie Fluharty.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Kathryn (Dunn) Fluharty; four sons and four daughters-in-law and two daughters and a son-in-law, Ralph and Claudia Fluharty, Coraopolis; Dianne and Robert Gartz, McKees Rocks; Gary and Cheryl Fluharty, Cuddy, Pa.; Sharon Elliott and her fiancÃ©, Robert Fiumara, Finleyville, Pa.; Stanley Fluharty, Raccoon Township; Jeffrey and Andrea Fluharty, Woodhaven, Mich., and JoAnn Fluharty, Aliquippa; 10 grandchildren, Brad and Brian Gartz; Jenny Sinoply; Robert, Gary and Paul Fluharty; Kristine and Cynthia Fluharty, and Sabrina and Baby Fluharty; four great-grandchildren, Brianna, Kaylee, Gary Jr. and Shai Fluharty; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; eight sisters and three brothers, Gladys Groter, in Missouri; Alfretta and George Knox, Ellwood City; Effie and Chester Heddleson, in Ohio; Thelma and John Kormas, in West Virginia; Earl and Opal Fluharty, Woodsfield, Ohio; Evelyn and Wesley Sicklesmith, Constantine, Mich.; Nora and William Ritchie, in Ohio; Raymond Fluharty, in Utah; Hazel Jefferies, in Texas; Ester and Jack Fisher, in Nevada, and Carl Fluharty, in Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the MASTROFRANCESCO FUNERAL HOME, 21st and McMinn Streets, Aliquippa, 724-375-0496, where a service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dennis Thomson will officiate.
Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Presbyterian Cemetery, Hanover Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, if desired, to the family.
