Hi. I'd read before that you'd also mentioned the names Hamilton and Levi. Maybe I can help a little, and maybe you can let me know what YOU know...

Susan Dickerson, b 1803 and d. 1868 I think...in Boscobel and is buried there. John, her husband, died years before she did and I BELIEVE he is buried more near Platteville. Susan moved in with her son, James Dickerson, and his wife, Charlotte Messersmith. I told you about them before.

Anyway, Susan (Stamm) Dickerson and John's fourth child was a daughter, Frances J., b in Boscobel, I think.

Frances J. married Solomon Levi, who divorced her and was "Prussion" (I think that's what Russians were called at this time, but that's where Soloman Levi came from.) He simply left Frances, pregnant, and went to MO, where it said he was a merchant, I think. He married a Madylyn (sp) who was also from Prussia, and they had several children...I think that was in Springfield, MO. Solomon's father, Moses Levi, also lived there, and when the time came, both father and son fought in the Civil War...Moses was an officer, I think.

Anyway, Moses had just left Frances, and five years later she obtained a legal divorce and a few days later married a John Hamilton. They had two children of their own, William and Alice. I think Frances and Solomon's child, Florence, or FloBelle, was about nine when her mother died, and then she said she'd been sent to live with her Dickerson relatives. William went to live with a family in town, and baby Mary (called Alice) was adopted by the Bennett or Benett family in Bos. She ended up marrying one of her "cousins" (by adoption) but after a few years she divorced him and married ANOTHER of her "cousins", David Young. They lived in Stillwater for awhile, where all my dad's family is from, and then they moved to Alameda, CA, where David Young had his own grocery store. He'd also had three, I think, children from a previous marriage, in CO. I believe the children stayed in CO and built up a small town that's still there...I even have a few pics...

SO, that's all I know for now. Would REALLY appreciate knowing where John Dickerson is buried.

Thanks for your time.
