Classification: Query
Surnames: Seidel, Hoover
I am hoping that there is someone out there who can help me. I am writing my second book about murders in Northern Texas. I am writing a story about William Hoover who killed a woman in Wichita Falls, TX (shot her 4 times and left 4 children without a mother.) In trying to research his genealogy, I think I have found his family
1930 Census, Berks Co. PA, ED: 48, Pg 2A (830 North Sixth St.)
Hoover, Charles T, 55, M
, Mary E., 57, M
, Miriam E, 20, S
1920 Census, Berks Coo. PA, ED: 110, Pg 3B (830 North Sixth St)
Hoover, Charles, 47, M
, Mary, 47, M
, Miriam, 10, S
1910 Census, Berks Co. PA, ED: 98, Pg 12B (832 Sixth St)
Hoover, Charles D, 36, M1, 2 years
, Mary E, 37, M2, 2 years, 4 children 4 alive
Seidel, Harry, 18, Step-Son
Seidel, William, 17, Step-Son
Seidel, Charles, 14, Step-Son
Hoover, Mary, 11/12, Dau
Now here is where it gets strange. It appears that Charles Hoover adopted Mary's four children. I don't know where William is in the following census but here is what I found
Seidel, Mary - 1900 Census, Berks Co. PA, ED: 65, Pg 8A (231 Miller's Court)
Seidel, Mary B, 28, Widow
, Harry F, 8, Single
, Charles, 4, Single
Can anyone tell me who Mary B. Seidel was married to? And what was her maiden name?
ANY help would be greatly appreciated. This William Hoover has been giving me fits for months and I would like to solve this brick wall once and for all! Julie Coley
