Hello, and thanks for the info re: Granville P. Hockman, who was my paternal grandfather's father.
This is probably the right "Granville" because he married
in 1889 in Wilmington, OH to his first wife, Maria(h)
Conner, who was from Blanchester, Ohio (Clinton County); Maria Conner Hockman died in 1892 after their only child (my paternal grandfather, Roger E.
Hockman) was born in Evansville, Indiana. Roger is
buried in Middletown, Ohio, and I believe that Granville
is buried with his second wife, Margaret (nee Keplinger)
in Highland County in Hillsboro, Ohio, but I haven't been to their burial site. I don't know much about this side of the family, but I was told that they go back to PA but I don't know how/when/dates. Thanks for this information! It gives me something to work on!
My maiden name is "Hockman," and the difficulty is:
I am an only child, my late father, Robert Oliver
Hockman (buried in Blanchester, Ohio/Clinton Cty) was
also an only child); and his father, Roger, was the
only child to Mariah Conner Hockman and Granville P.
Hockman, so this line has pretty much died out.
