Researching parents & siblings of my grandmother Lillian Ethel McCONNELL, born Butler, Butler Co.,PA December 6, 1872, died Oakland, Alameda Co., CA 1930. Her fathers given name & birth date unknown. Her mothers given name was Jane, born 1834 PA. Her grandfather was David McCONNELL born 1795 Ireland. Her Grandmother was Mary McKEE born 1813 in Ireland. Lillian Ethel McCONNELL was confirmed into full communion with the St. Pauls Reformed Church at Butler, Butler Co., PA on November 2, 1889. She married Charles Archibald Chase(born 1871 Philadelphia PA) April 8, 1896 at Allegheny, PA. Lillian Ethel McCONNELL had seven children, five born in Pittsburg PA (Ruth Lillian CHASE born 1897, Frank STIVER CHASE born 1899, Charles Howard CHASE born 1902, William Gibson CHASE born 1904, Janet Marion CHASE born 1906),two born in Goldfield Nevada (Mary CHASE - my mother- born 1909, Alice CHASE, born 1914).
The 1900 census reported Lillian Ethel McCONNELL and her two children Ruth Lillian CHASE and Frank STIVER CHASE (why was her first sons middle name STIVER?)living with her widowed mother Jane in Butler, Butler Co. PA.
