Custer, Wilbur C. "Pib", 90, Windber, died July 14, 1999, at home. Born April 7, 1909, in Napier Township, son of Harry E. and Mary E. (Seese) Custer. Preceded in death by parents; infant daughter, Garland Jean; brothers, Frank, Evan and Donald; and sister, Geraldine A. Berkey. Survived by wife, former Dora L. McKinney; daughter LaVerne, wife of John Legath, Johnstown; and son, Wilbur L., married to former Michele Baster, North Carolina; and grandchildren, Brian and Kathrlyn Legath. Brother of Ruby Feldbauer, Windber; Marian Able, California; Anna Mae Cook, Utah; and Patricia VonLunen, Salix. Member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church, Scalp Level. Private funeral service will be held at Meek Funeral Home Inc., Windber, the Rev. Jacquelyn DePhillips, officiating. Interment, Rummel Cemetery. Family suggests contributions to Windber Regional Hospice or Mount Zion Lutheran Church, in memory of Mr. Custer.
