I may have a "lost" Breon. Let me show what I have. 1st clue took me a *long* time since I've been futilely looking for a Brown connection late 1700s-early1800s Centre Co PA .
For whatever reason, the 1860 census enumerator took it upon himself to save this clue for me for over 140 years:
1860 > Indiana > CASS > WASHINGTON TWP
Series: M653 Roll: 247 Page: 570
Daniel BROWN 49 farmer 4000 900 Centre Co, PA

Albert G? 12, Martin V 9, Daniel 8, these b Cass Co IN
There's more. Valentine, apparently known familarly as "fully". Daniel may be son, or brother, of Valentine, ages on census vary a good bit, as you'll see. Daniel is definitely from Centre, and it would seem the name Valentine likely also. Some time in the 1820s Valentine left Centre Co for OH, perhaps with his mother or mother-in-law in tow:

Part of Carroll County was cut off, named Cass. By birth years of Valentine's children they arrived IN from Marion Co, OH mid-1830s.
These two "Browns" married sisters, maybe a 2nd wife for Valentine. Valentine married Maria/Mariah 1833 OH, Daniel married Julia Ann Sherman 1834 IN. To see more on my family, my gedcom's online at rootsweb/ancestry.com. - look for Daniel and Julia.
Daniel's my ggg-grandpa and nobody in living memory ever knew or told me it wasn't plain-brown. Ben F Brown served in the Civil War under Brown.
