Thanks for your reply. I am not sure if this is the same Samuel Lucas. I suppose it is possible that he had 2 marriages but on my grandmothers birth certificate it lists his middle name as Beachy. I am pretty sure he belongs to the Lucas-Quick line but I need some more solid evidence to confirm this. I have Mary Quick married to William Franklin Lucas. I have that Mary Quick was born in Pa. in 1860 and that her Father was Levi Austin Quick (1818) and mother Sarah Duffy(~1818). I was told that there is a book about some of the first families in that area it is by John Blair Linn "History of Centre and Clinton Counties Pennsylvania" 1883. I have not had a chance to look at it but it may contain some more information on the Quick family. Sorry thats about all the help I can give you I do not have much yet. Good luck in your search.

I believe my ggf was Sanuel Lucas born 1881 in Moshannon, Pa who resided in Snow Shoe. His father I believe was William Franklin Lucas and mother was Mary Quick. He had a brother named Lemeul. Samuel Lucas married Amy Williamson also of Snow Shoe sometime around 1908-09 they had a daughter named Ida Margaret Lucas my grandmother. I am looking for any info on Samuel Lucas where abouts after the 1900 census. In 1900 he was living with his grandfather Levi Quick. I would also appreciate any other info on Samuel as I have no information on his death.

Hi, Susan:

No, looks like we're talking about two different Bower/Baur families, sorry to say. I'm sure of Christina's line, as I have them back to the 1750's in Berks Co., PA.

Wish you well in your search/research, though. I've sort of "dead-ended," myself.

John

Jennifer, do you have any Kerstetter/Young marriages? If so I would be interested. I have the John Young/Lydia Kerstetter marriage from Beer's but were John's parents a John Young and Susannah Kerstetter? Peter Kerstetter and Anna Marie "Polly" Young married as well as Johannes Kerstetter and Elizabeth Young in that area. I have some of the Young history but would like the Kerstetter viewpoint. I suspect these Young's are all related and that is the reason for this response.

I have other Kerstetter's from Union County if you would like to discuss.

Hello hello... I unfortunately don't have any info on the Dauberman family, but I found your posting while searching for information on the Egg Hill Cemetery and Egg Hill Church.

I recently found family records that my Grandma had among her belongings. I have family buried in Egg Hill Cemetery - family name Hennigh. Other family names are Mengel and Rishell.

Where exactly is Egg Hill Cemetery? Is the church still standing. My grandma had several newspaper clippings from 1970s-80s and each one seemed to have a grim outlook on the church's fate.

I'd really appreciate any response I could get. And I wish you much luck in finding your family information.

Sincerely,

Tyger McClure
grandson of Evelyn Esther Hennigh Sawyer

312 977 9217

I wish I had read your posting a few months ago. We were traveling through Centre County and went to the Egg Hill Cemetery. Some of my ancestors, I think, are buried there. John and Susannah Strohm and John, their son. I have pictures of their stones, but I could have taken pictures or all the stones because it is a very small cemetery. We also took pictures of the church in its disrepair.

Good morning! I saw the mention of Weiss. Do you know whether your relative is related to Christopher Weiss/White (1793-1867) and his brother, Philip? I believe that they came out of Montgomery/Philadelphia County before arriving in Centre County in the early 1820s. They lived in Potter/Gregg Twps. in Centre Co. with Philip moving on to Mercer County, PA by 1840. Christopher moved to Sugar Valley in Clinton Co. where he died in 1867. Philip's wife was Elizabeth (Johnston?). Christopher was first married to Sarah ______, who died by 1830, and second to Susannah Kern (1803-1875), the widow of Johannes Geiss. He was the father of, among others, Hannah (White) Schreckengast (1818-1886) of Booneville, Clinton Co., and John R. White (1819-1884) of Gregg & Walker Twps., Centre Co. I have found an early Christopher Weiss/White family in Montgomery and eastern Berks Co. with names that match, but can't make any solid connection. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I paid a researcher for the cemetery listings. It indicated that William was previously married. He was born 17 Mar. 1832 and died 19 Dec 1909 and was buried in Union Cemetery, Bellefonte, Centre Co., Pa. Lois was born 24 Nov. 1857 and died 8 June 1950 and is buried in San Diego, Ca. I again, paid for the obit. Check the Civil War Cards and there is some more info. I hated to pay for the Civil War Widow Pension Records since I think they are over $60.00. They used to be $10.00. I guess I just keep digging. Dorcas B.

They are both buried at the Old Cemetery at Pine Grove Mills, Centre Co, Pa.
William's 2nd wife was Lois Jane Shirar and the Shirars are the family I research. Dorcas B.

Thanks so much for your reply. I know the cemetery listings are available in a book from the Centre County Historical Society, but was wondering if you'd found them online somewhere. I hate to pay $15.00 for the book for one listing, too! Thank you for your information. Have you ever corresponded with Barb Shirar from Perry County? She works at Perry Historians in New Bloomfield, PA and has been very helpful in researching our family from Perry County. Let me know if you need her contact information and I'm happy to share it with you.

I have been working on Hennigh family tree for few years but I am searching for lost cousins who might be related to Hennigh lineage.

Thank you
Jennifer (Boone) Roberts

I am a descendant of Peter Miller and Elizabeth Weiss (both born in 1817 in Loganton and Buffalo Twp. Pennsylvania.) They had 11 children (possibly one more that I'm not sure about). Are these the individuals you are referring to?
