I am trying to find the names of the parents of Adam Smith b. ca. 1823 died May 30, 1863 at the Battle of Fair Oaks, VA. He lived in Porter Twp. Clinton County and he was married to Harriet Shick. His mother may have been Susan Smith (maiden name unknown, as some of his children were living with her in the 1850 census). Family tradition holds that members of the Smith family fought in the Rev. War, War of 1812 and the Mexican War. Any information about this family would be greatly appreciated.
