Deborah Ann Williams, 49, 2723 Holland St., and formerly of 30 W. Eighth St., Jamestown, N.Y., died on Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Hamot Medical Center.
She was born on June 19, 1953, in Erie, daughter of Helen Elizabeth Ellman Saunders and the late George Gerald Saunders.
She was employed most recently as a caregiver at Home Day Care Services. She also worked as the head chef at the Holiday Inn and a machinist at Autoclave Engineers.
She was a 1970 graduate of Academy High School and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard A. Saunders, and a grandson, Lydell Conneley.
Survivors include her husband, Sheldon Edward Williams Sr.; two daughters, Kara Lynn Saunders of Erie and Natasha Williams of Jamestown, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Shavon Williams of Erie; three sons, Jermaine Jabbar Saunders of Erie, Liketh Lamone Saunders of Jamestown, N.Y., and Sheldon E. Williams Jr. and his wife, Melissa, of Erie; three brothers, George Anthony Saunders and Mark Timothy Saunders, both of Erie, and Norman Gerald Saunders of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Lisa Ann Cummings and her husband, Kevin, of Fort Brags, N.C., and Gloria Lynn Shotwell and her husband, Robert, of Erie; 18 grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at St. James AME Church, 236 E. 11th St., and are invited to a service there on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Eugene Schoolfield II officiating.
Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
