I am researching possible migration trails of my great, great grandfather, William HAMILTON's father, and mother from PA, to VA, to SC, and TN, in the 1700s. William was born in SC , 25 Jul, 1783, the son of_________? and mar. Rachel HUNTER, dau. of Henry HUNTER, and Barbara BOLLINGER, who was b., , 1769, Codorus, York Co., PA, the dau. of Isaac BOLLINGER, and Chaterina__?, Rachel was b. 15 Mar, 1791, 1792, and was the granddaugther of John HUNTER (formerly JEAGER/JAGER/JEAGER), Rev. War soldier / VA Militia., but was in Lancaster/York Counties in early 1700s. Since the Scotch-Irish were settlers in the early colonies, and families often migrated together, I am researching possible migration routes to VA, for William HAMILTON's parents, possibly. The Pendleton Dist./Anderson Co., SC website states that the early settlers were mostly Germans and Scotch-Irish who had migrated from VA and PA. Anyone in this line or have information?
