Classification: Query
looked at naturalization records. there is a
josiah warren living in queens, last name of person who vouched for him quarterman. year listed as 1866. person who
wanted to become citizen had to be in u s at least 5 years
or came over when young then had declaration of intent and
naturalization at same time. if our josiah came over 1861
or if young came over would have had to left soon after
1861 census. i had photo of josiah with photo studio in
wrexham wales, where one of his brothers lived. don't know
why but josiah's mother died in coedpoeth new south wales.
can't find any record josiah's father john. mother elizabeth
and children in mary tavy 1861. was told josiah came over
first then sent for her. josiah's arrival before ellis
island so would have had gone through castle gardens n y
(website online) but couldn't find there. will check again.
was in contact with ray barnes but i already had the info
he sent me.
