My name is Laura Throne, home address Hatboro, PA. About a year ago I came across two metal ID tags at a yard sale - actually one ID tag and a bridge pass. I immediately
liked them (got good vibes!) and they now have become my everyday keychain.
Curious as to whom these tags belonged, I went to the local library and did some research on the Alan Wood Steel Co. I came across an employee name list, but unfortunately
no employee ID badge numbers to link them. The ID tag is a brass rectangle with # 2165 stamped along the bottom. A circular Alan Wood Steel Co. trademark is above it with the number 2 stamped to it's left, bottom side. The opposite side of the tag reads.....
Loss of this check should be reported to paymaster immediately. A charge of one dollar will be made if lost, or not returned on leaving the employ of this company.
I'm curious too about the bridge pass. A silver metal square with "U.M.&P.RR. Bridge Pass 226 Not Transferable" stamped on it. The other side is blank. My dad and I guess that P.RR. is Pennsylvania Railroad. Anyone know what the abbreviations stand for?
Any help or info. you can give me regarding this would be very much appreciated, especially the name of the employee who had ID tag# 2165 and approx. when he worked there.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
