Please note!!! This offer is only available for marriages that took place up to and including 1922!!!
I know that the Mormon Church makes available for free a marriage index for Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1885-1951)
at this link http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=coll
but if there is more than one person with your ancestor's name, it might be difficult to figure out which one is yours. Also, I know for a fact that the index is missing names as I have several family members who do not show up in the index, even though they were married in Philly in the correct time frame.
The marriage license lists published in the Inquirer SOMETIMES gives the addresses of the bride and groom (depending on the era in which it was published). It also gives the date on which the license was issued. Remember that in Philly a license is good for 30 days. This added info might help to track down that elusive endangered species...the bride's maiden name!
PLUS, there are marriages write-ups (usually for the well-to-do) listed as "News" or "Society" almost every day.
I'll be happy to do a search for your ancesters...please give me a timeframe, particularly for common last names.
