It took me over 22 plus years to find out when my Uncle Val died. His death certificate list his wife as Anna Taylor. Their address listed on his d/C was 1401 W. York St. Philadelphia. Uncle Val died Jan. 6, 1951..With a common name like Anna Taylor..I don't know where to start looking for anything on her. I plan to see if I can't find an obit. He is buried at Oakland Cem. so I thought I'd start there since she would probably be buried beside of him unless she remarried. He was only 63 yrs. old when he died in 1951..Have no idea where they married and what her maiden name was. I suspect that they were married in Philly, after 1938..I live in Maryland 3 hrs. away and are unable to come to Philly to do the research. Besides contacting Oakland Cem. to see if she is buried there, what about looking in a city directory for 1952 and later. It is possible that she may have moved elsewhere after his death. With that address, what neighborhood would that have been in? No zip code listed on D/C When did Zip codes come into existance?
I have gone on SSDI and there are many Anna Taylor's but SSDI doesn't tell you the spouse's name.
Any suggestions? Don't know if he had a will or if they owned their property?
