I am seeking information on my 3rd great-grandfather, Henry DELCAMP, Sr. He was born in 1800 in Pennsylvania and died in February, 1883 in Indiana. I believe that his parents were Philip DELCAMP (1778-1848) and Maria Magdalena COULTER (1774-1854) of Schuylkill County, PA, although I do not have any documentary proof as yet. I am unclear as to the identity of Henry's first wife, who was the mother of my ancestor, Henry DELCAMP, Jr (born in Pottsville, PA, in 1827 and died in Mishawaka, IN, in 1890) and three other sons, Israel (b. 1825), Benjamin (b. 1829), and David (b. 1831). Henry Sr moved to Medina County, Ohio, sometime after 1830 and then to Elkhart County, IN, sometime after 1850. I have two specific questions. (1) Can anyone tell me who Henry Sr's parents were and document the relationship? (2) Does anyone know who his first wife was? I will be very grateful for any information that you can provide.
