Diana L. Caswell, 58, of Frankfort, NY, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center with the love and support of her family. Born in Meshoppen, PA on July 31, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Richard L. and Reva (Abrams) Caswell. She was raised and educated in Wyalusing and graduated from Kutztown University with a BS in Library Science. She was employed by the Whitesboro Senior High School for 33 years and was the Media Department Chairperson when she retired. Endowed with wit and wisdom, she was a voracious reader with a keen thirst for knowledge. She dearly loved her family and was a devoted aunt to her niece and nephews. She loved traveling when she could and taking her daily walks. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers and baking for her friends. A board member of the Salvation Army, she attended the Whitesboro Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Diane Caswell of Narvon, PA, and Bill and Lisa Caswell of Wilton, CT; her niece and nephews, Sarah, Nathan, Bryan and Matt Caswell and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She also leaves many dear and cherished friends, too numerous to mention. The family wishes to acknowledge the nurses and staff of the ICU and the Special Care Unit of the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, as well as her doctors, for their compassionate care. In keeping with Diana’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Diana’s Memorial Service and Celebration of Life, which will commence on Saturday afternoon, July 18 at 1 p.m. at Whitesboro Presbyterian Church, corner of Elm and Main Street. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial contributions in Diana’s honor to the Salvation Army or the Whitesboro Presbyterian Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Send online tributes to www.EannaceFuneralHome.
